PA.bestpic – Overview 2026

Every month, we bring together all the moments and finds that have inspired and occupied us over the past few weeks. We look for motifs that reflect our view of architecture and our daily work or reveal new perspectives – be it art, music, people, ecology, economics, a challenge, an unexpected inspiration or a reason for spontaneous joy… everything comes into the discourse.

At the end of each month, we choose our favorite – click here for the contributions:

56 meters above the ground – the sports area is still there and with it, a whole world: The ascent to the roof of the Cité Radieuse in Marseille not only leads to another common area but also allows our team member Sunghoon to see how the roof’s accessibility transforms the interplay of individuality and community into a cosmos of its own. We were captivated by his observation and selected his submission for our PA.bestpic in July!

PA.bestpic June

A visit to the Vitra Campus. Room by room. The sound of piano music can be heard from next door. Following the notes, at the transition between the rooms, a powerful realization: Space is more than just its boundaries. Space is also the transition, the in-between. Our team member Nan is fascinated and wins over the rest of the team as well—House within a House is our clear favorite!

PA.bestpic May

During a walk through the city of Xun Yang, not far from Xi‘an in China, a clear sky transforms even a construction crane into a sculpture—the submission from our new team member, Nan, has captivated us all. This bestpic not only speaks to architecture as an object in itself, but also to the significance of its placement, its backdrop, and thus the importance of its setting.

PA.bestpic April

The university campus designed by Mireille Tagliabeu EMBT attracts architecture enthusiasts from all over the world to Vigo, Galicia, every year— Ralf was there too and was deeply impressed. His submission clearly won over the team as well! On display is “one of many buildings on the campus… all of them excellent!”

PA.bestpic March

A visit to the Hufeisensiedlung is a must, especially after moving to Neukölln—much to the delight of our team member Valentin and his girlfriend Juli! Designed by Bruno Taut, the housing estate still captivates visitors today with its materials and color scheme. Nestled at the heart of the estate, a landscaped park also delights many a visitor—no wonder, since horseshoes (Hufeisen) are known to bring good luck!

PA.bestpic February

This discovery “in the backyard” of the old neighborhood on Brunnenstraße surprised even our experienced team member Christoph: a visit to a Berlin art gallery spontaneously led him to the backyard, where the residential building designed by Eike Becker_Architekten with its curved facade awaited him — the team is thrilled!

Rear Window – was discovered by our new team member Elsa at a small flea market in Athens in the industrial district of Elaionas. The small opening in a commercial wall, which is not at eye level, arouses the curiosity of passers-by and invites them to take an intimate look into the world on the other side of the wall. The article thus addresses the importance of openings and sightlines in architecture, as well as how they shape and enrich the spatial experience.
